Service
Thomas Gorria, our young high-mountain guide from the ESI-7Laux school, will be your guide for this outing. With his extensive climbing experience and passion for the Belledonne mountain range, he will guide you on the area’s icefalls with professionalism, kindness, and enjoyment!
Service : Full-day or half-day guided ice climbing excursion with a High Mountain Guide! From beginner to expert level, there’s something for everyone!
Schedules
- Half day: Morning (9am-1pm) or afternoon (1pm-5pm). Depending on what you want to do and the conditions at the waterfalls and the weather, it’s best to check with the guide so we can offer you the most suitable time slot!
- Full day: From 9am to 5pm for a day of fun and learning! Bring a snack and a thermos because you’ll need hot coffee to keep you going 😉
Prices
- Half-day booking: €280 (form your own group of up to 4 people. The price is for the entire group)
- Full-day booking: €480 (form your own group of up to 4 people. The price is for the entire group)
- It is possible to create groups on certain dates for a half-day outing, ice climbing initiation: €100 per person for 4 hours
- For ice climbing outings, the limit is 4 people per guide. This can be discussed with the guides!
Practical information
- Icefall climbing is generally possible between mid-December and mid-February. Conditions vary greatly from week to week, so we encourage you to contact us to discuss them.
- Departures and returns are from Prabert (a 15-minute drive from Prapoutel).
- We can also travel to other ice climbing areas throughout the region upon request! This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis, and we will adapt to your needs!
Ski pass and equipment
- Please plan to rent crampon-compatible mountaineering boots (approximately €10), and possibly snowshoes depending on the conditions for accessing the waterfall.
- We lend mountaineering equipment free of charge: crampons for automatic/semi-automatic mountaineering boots, ice axes, harnesses, ropes, and other vertical climbing equipment.
- We also lend avalanche safety equipment: transceiver, shovel, probe. However, if you have your own equipment, please bring it!
